WHO ARE YOU COSPLAYING AS? ( MINOR-ANIME COSPLAY)

I'm currently working on a cosplay costume of Lytia from a light novel series called "Kouen no Wizard (Wizard of flame light)"

It is not really known in the US since its not translated, its novel series, and not out in comics.

But I love this series and the outfit is so cute, so I planned to make this costume.

Last year, my friend did Kyuzo, a character from Samurai 7. This is more known anime series, but still only 2 people pointed out that she is Kyuzo.

Any of you planning to do a cosplay of a character from not really known anime or series, but still, you love it so much that you are gonna cosplay as?

A few potentials. Lloyd from Tegami Bachi or Higuchi from Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro are probably the only ones I'm considering doing for this paticular con though. Alot of excellent and not well known series, if only the general fandoms at large would care to expand their horizens a bit.

I've seen Majin tantei Nougami Neuro. I like that series. I still havent finished watching all episodes, though.
But, yea, they should really open up their views! there is so much out there which is as good as the popular ones right now!

Two words: JUUNI KOKKI.  Terribly awesome and thoroughly underloved series.  I did it for AX this year, and will be bringing it to Kumoricon and next year's Sakuracon before Fanime.  Not sure if I'll have formal-wear Risai (the more recognisable anime version) or the version from the yet-untranslated novel cover -- hopefully the latter -- but I love the show and the cosplay too much not to wear it.

Plus, I know that there will be at least one other Juuni Kokki cosplayer there, as Kimu does a lovely Sairin (which she wore this year).

I think that's about as obscure, anime-wise, as I'll be getting.  My sister and I have plans for cos that borders between jpop and anime, but that's neither here nor there.
2012 Plans:
  • Gypsy Queen / Kaya Syokka (Trinity Blood)
  • Risai (Juuni Kokki/Twelve Kingdoms)
  • Shusui (Saiunkoku Monogatari)
  • others TBD

Yukari Kaiba

If i can fit it into my cosplay schedule, I really want to do a Zombie Powder cosplay, either Wolfina or Geraldine (with the giant axe XD). i've only seen one person cosplay from ZP and they did an awesome Gamma, but have yet to see Wolfina or Geraldine done.
FANIME '14 COSPLAY
-Gundam Tanaka (Super Dangan Ronpa 2)
-Tetra (Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker)
-Levi (Attack On Titan)
-Wanderer (Journey)

I'm not sure that magikano is NOT well known, but since I've never seen someone cosplay from that sereis, I'm going to be Yuri Kurosu.

Hirotona

I have a strong preference toward the MTNN manga though (never like when they make large plot changes); I actually suggested Yuusei (the mangaka) as one of the guest we should think about bringing.

But I'm not sure still if I'll be able to fit it into my cosplay schedule.

yes! Next year I won't be the only JK (aka Twelve Kingdoms) cosplayer! From what I could tell I was it for 2008?
yeah!
Of course that might mean we're that much less obscure if we have at least 2 next year....LOL!

It's fun to cosplay something obscure that others haven't really done, just for the fun of it. To see if there's one or two people that recognize it.
(And then I also like running around with lots of other cosplayers from popular series, too.)

edendreams

To debut in 2009, I'm currently working on Prier from La Pucelle Tactics, an older PS2 game.  I do not know if she is really a not so well known character but seeing lack of cosplayers cosplaying Prier, I assume she's a rather difficult cosplay to perfect.

Hopefully this works out since the costume itself is made up of multiple layers and its the first cosplay I want to make 110% perfect and accurate.  No offense, but I'm a experienced seamstress just I have not made a cosplay of such skin-showing caliber.  Wish me luck!

Thanks!  I'll need it since my other friend who is a cosplayer wants me to make original patterns and I'm like...  uh no. I may have to make some original patterns for the apron and such, but the underlayers.... I'm going to be finding close enough patterns asap!  :-)

I did Hakuro from Utawarerumono last year (2007). I may actually bring him back for 2009 with a new mask and perhaps the metal war fan this time.

Possibly Sasazuka Eishi from Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro if I have time. Although it looks like the series has been mentioned on this thread already? XDD
