While I, personally, would never name a child that, if these people wanted to, let them. Unless they are raising their children to start a Holocaust, which I seriously doubt, then there should be no problem. People need to not be so uptight about names. Although, from that perspective, people need to think about what having a certain name will do to a child as it grows. But still....a name does not equal a deed/action.

On a related note, ever notice how millions of people use Biblical names? I wonder if a store would deny a birthday cake if the child was named Judas? Nice name, bad connotation...hmm....okay, off-topic kinda, sorry....

It's a matter of what legal marriage grants. Legal marriage grants roughly five times as many rights to the involved parties as domestic partnerships. Through domestic partnerships, you cannot under any circumstances (work, school, etc.) live under a different roof from your partner, you cannot visit your partner in the hospital or make important decisions when they are in the hospital, you do not receive Social Security, veteran's benefits and pension plan survivor benefits upon death of partner, no family leave to care for them if they are sick, federal tax returns are filed seperately, you are not guaranteed the right to be buried beside your partner, etc.....just to name a few.

If all rights and benefits were equal, then there wouldn't even be a debate because "marriage" would just be a word. And no one can stop you from using a word. I know one couple that shares the most pure and beautiful love I have ever seen in my life, the kind of love that you can see is obviously destined....they got "married" in 2007, and despite the fact that it was not legally recognized then, and isn't legally recognized now, they still call each other "wife" and say they are married. So, no, I really don't think we need it to be deemed "marriage" by the state, we just want equal rights and fair treatment.

Honestly, I agree with your other views. Polyamorous? Go for it. Gay, straight, bi? Have at it. My theory, when I look at other peoples' relationships, is this; if it is making YOU happy and is not hurting OTHERS in any way, there should be NO REASON to stop you. I just wish more people could have more open minds like that...

Anyway, as I was saying...this is a civil rights issue. This is a matter of bigotry and human cruelty. I don't think the yes voters really understood exactly what their votes did to thousands of people and their loved ones. I don't think they realized that by checking one thing on a ballot, they were crushing peoples' hearts and souls, taking away their right to be equal, deciding their lives for them. By supporting Proposition 8, they have told a rather large number of people that they are second-class citizens, undeserving of fair and equal treatment. They have told us that we are not worth as much as they are. If people would stop for a minute and take a look at what they've done, how it's affected people, I wonder if they'd change their minds at all?

Unless they were wearing the actual costume, I wouldn't consider it "cosplay". If that were the case then (to piggy-back on your example) any girl in buns and a skirt would be a Chun Li cosplay, etc. Although if someone were to sculpt their body in order to be BETTER as a certain character, then more power to them! That's an admirable amount of dedication   ;D But without a costume, it's no cosplay.

Okay, so I haven't gone through and read every single post of this 48-page thread, ~so~ sorry. Doesn't change the fact that it's turned into less of a "Rate the other person's movie" and more of a "Name the last movie you saw".

So, I got the idea for this after someone else posted a thread requesting pictures of the Maruchan Cup Noodle costume.

Saturday, my friend Jangular and I were Kyouraku Shunsui and Nanao Ise from Bleach (I was the Nanao with the basket of rose petals). Buuuuut, WE didn't get any pictures.

Mostly, I'm interested in the petal-tossing pics. There were only two instances in when I actually threw the petals on him, and both times we got swarms of people showing up to take pictures, but I have yet to find a single one anywhere on the Internet.

So any pictures at all would make me very happy, but especially ones of me tossing the petals~

Well, I ~intend~ on debuting my Genjo Sanzo from Saiyuki Reload, if all goes well. If I don't make it up to Sakura Con, then Fanime will also be my debute of my Yu-Gi-Oh cosplay (either Mai or Malik, whichever i get done first). Also, more likely than not, a new Sasuke Uchiha oufit, possibly the crossover I intend on working on, and maaaayyybe Utena Tenjou!~

The plastic ones with the fuzzy insides, on the elastic bands, and some of them had ribbons and stuff on them. I saw them again a few weeks ago at Yaoi-Con, but I can't find the card I picked up from them. At the time I didn't know what colour I would need, so I didn't buy them. But I really would love to find their website, as those are the only cat ears I will buy, since they, in my opinion, look the best. But yeah, if anyone knows who that dealer was or what their website is, that'd be a big help <3

DX FOOD. I spent way too much money on food. Also, maybe art? I am a sucker for artist alleys. I have bought so much art....and I really don't know what to do with any of it XD I just love pretty things so much.

Actually, more specifically, there's this one artist that made me a bit sad. They'll go unnamed because I don't wanna point anyone out, but I liked a lot of their work and so I commissioned a picture from them. When I finally got it, it was...well, not bad, but it's not at ALL something I would have paid that price for. And I'd seen some of their other commissions, so I don't know what was up with this one :(
