Today Nabeshin (Shinichi Watanabe) the Director of Excel Saga and other anime is wondering on his Facebook why USA conventions have not invited him for this year.

Is there a way for Fanime Guest Relations Staffing to invite him over to Fanime Con 2011?  I already met him at last years Anime Expo 2010 and he is a very nice and funny guy when I got to know him at their meet the guest reception.

Just a suggestion if Fanime Con 2011 can pull off this miracle as I want other fans to enjoy his company.

Was it me or did this year's fanime lacked gaming merchants? I always buy video game shit but this year nada.

Hi I am one of the Former Fanime Con Staffers in the E-gaming Room.  Unfortunately JapanVideoGames from Southern California could not make it this year due to the Bad Import Video Game Economy and little issues involved with the distriubutors.

Please click on this link as proof as to why they cannot come this year.

http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,12252.msg368346.html#msg368346

I will see them at the upcoming Anime Expo 2010 Event and will make sure they will come back to Fanime Con once again.

Thanks for your concern and feedback along with anyone that wanted more video game dealers booths.

Hotel and Facilities / Re: BAG STASHING?!!!
May 23, 2010, 09:10:08 PM
Its free for this service and the hotel does not charge you.  Another word for Bag check in hotel terminology is called the Concierge. Tipping is optional.  You only tip bellhops and maids.

hmm, this will be first time attending Fanime and the dealer's hall, I will be bringing about $600 for food and merch items for the swap and dealer's hall. Any tips that you may have for a newbie who is prone to become a shopaholic? (especially with the Bleach stuff, god I love Bleach merch, lol)

Check out the Thursday Day Zero Swap Meet if you can go and the Friday Day one Swap meets.  Both are scheduled for 8pm to 1am.  You can find budget priced, mint conditioned and rare stuff that you cannot find in the dealers room, especially if you are the type looking for the latest anime imported merchandise from Japan.  Also found domestic out of print stuff there like the 1st print of the Kodocha box set for 20 bucks factory sealed for example.  Please do not fall for impulse buying when you are at the dealers room.  Go for the rare hard to find stuff on the first two days of the dealers room then the easy to find stuff on the last two days.  On the last day of the dealers room, two to three hours before it shuts down for good, some dealers will lower their prices to clear out some leftovers and you can bargain with some.

Again rare stuff first then easy to find stuff last.  This is a tip I give to anime convention shoppers.  Good luck at Fanime and manage your hard earned money wisely.  This is coming from a soon to be 11th year Fanime con Attendee Veteran.  Hope this helps.

Brushing your Teeth also helps as well.  You do not want your morning breath of death to wake up the entire room you know.  That would be called a rude awakening.

The reservations were locked by CMR this morning so they can transfer the discounted hotel rates to the hotels and start booking the rooms for the convention attendees.  Not even people online outside of Fanime Con can book for the San Jose Hilton since the rooms are blocked off.

Good luck if anyone can get to CMR because if they are closed, you have to contact the front desk of the hotel tommorow May 21st.  It goes to show you never plan anything super last minute.  This is just a heads up.

To Topic Creator and anyone that needs to do last minute changes to their Fanime Con Hotel Room Reservation.  Please call Convention Management Resources Before they close at (800) 924-4232 / (415) 979-2282.

Wait till the end of the week as the Master Convention Schedule will be posted up then on the very front homepage of Fanime Con 2010's Website.  This includes all events and concerts.  You can do your planning then especially people coming from out of town.  When you pick up your Badge and Registration Stuff at the Convention site there will be the Program Guide and a Small Pocket Size Master Convention Schedule included in the Bag.

Last year at Fanime (Long Time Vet here) The Convention used pocket sized con event schedule books and also the Map of the Entire Layout of the Convention is there as well.  Since this idea was popular and also reduced waste due to its convenience of being pocket sized I have a feeling Fanime Con will go back to this Pocket Sized guide and will be included in all goodie bags that also has the program guide once you get you membership badge.

A week or two before the con there will be a link at the very front of the Fanime Main Website page showing the finalized Master Event Schedule so all you can do right now is wait.

To Registration Staff,

A couple of weeks ago when you posted the At Con prices and times and dates to pick up badges, I happen to see a two day membership for sale only for Saturday and Sunday posted at the main website updates.

I was thinking this is new for Fanime but suddenly it was taken down from the website.  Can you clear up this matter because it would have been nice for my friend to take advantage of this two day weekend pass.

I am a Fanime Con Vet and normally for at con price there is usually no two consecutive day pass at Fanime with the exception of Anime Expo.

Please clear this up to avoid any confusion.  Thanks.

Also I noticed tonight that the Pre Reg Laminated Badges with the Fan Names are locked down as of this moment.  Hopefully pre-reg people took note of this on the forums.

Thanks.

Most likely yes.  Usually its after her panel or during her concert time.  Try not to miss out as I have never seen a Seiyuu come back to Fanime more than Twice.

I have some suggestions for the Video Programming Staff to show at Fanime 2010.

Here are some Fansub Suggestions for the 2009-2010 Season.

K-ON! Season 1 Eps 1-14 with all the Blu Ray Bonuses if Possible.
Hanamaru Youchien by Gainax if Yamaga San does not mind if we can show all of them.  Great Fansub for cuteness, PG-13 due to some dialog not suitable for children.
Saki Anime for People that enjoy their Moe and Mahjong.
Kampfer for the late night showing.
Kobato due to the fact its CLAMP's latest new Anime
Sora no Woto aka K-ON at War ^_^ LOL
K-ON Second Season if possible
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun due to the fact its one of the most popular anime out now.
Ranma 1/2 OVA that is out in Japan right now celebrating 50 years of Shonen Sunday
Sora no Otoshimono for the late night programing
Seitokai no Ichizon
Princess Lover for late night programming
Kimi ni Todoke for the Shojo Fan
Yumeiro Patissiere for the Kids
Ladies vs Butlers for late night programming
Working!!
Angel Beats!
Kaichou wa Maid-sama
Arakawa Under The Bridge
Kiss Sis TV series for late night programming
Omamori Himari for late night programming
Chu Bra for late night programming
Hatsukoi Limited for late night programming

I know its a very long list since no one is suggesting last years and current fansubs for the Spring Season but please put as many of these in the video schedule especially season one and two of K-ON! and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.

If its possible can you get Funimation's permission to have a special screening of Baka Test to Shoukanju if possible.

Thanks for considering these long suggestions of this years Fanime 2010 Fansub suggestions.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Lanyards??
April 08, 2010, 09:01:04 AM
Lanyards are very expensive.  Back in 2008 Nvidia Sponsored Fanime con by giving these lanyards to us so we can go to their con.  Fanime does not have a resources to do so as it costs extra money.

I know its convenient unless you have a huge budget like Anime Expo for instance that has tons of Sponsors to go with their budget, Fanime has a very limited budget.  They go only so far as to give all pre registrants a nice laminated badge.

Just bring your old Fanime 2008 Lanyard.  Unless a huge company can sponsor Fanime, there is no way unless we are really lucky again to strike gold that we will get new Lanyards to accomodate 15,000 plus attendee during the 4-5 day convention weekend.

Does anyone from Fanime Know the link to Haruko Momoi's Song List with the tutorial of the call chart?  I remember last year people linked it to the website and I cannot find it.  This will help and inform people about Otagei where we do glowstick calls aka cheering to the Seiyuu.

Anyone that can link it to this thread and or have authorization to put the link up next to her Guest of Honor Biography is very highly appreciated.  I want all of us along with Fanime Staff, Attendees and newcomers to show how much we improved our calling skills.

Also its another great way to lose tons of weight since we eat so much during the 4 day weekend.  This does not count to people that save their money just to get stuff from the dealers room and forget to take care of their health overall.

Let's make her stay very memorable along with celebrating her 10 years as a Otaku Seiyuu!  I am looking forward to improve my otagei skills and make her feel at home.

Hi, I am surprised no one created at least one topic of Haruko Momoi or comments about her and her concert last year.  Due to the fact she enjoyed her visit to Fanime Con along with its die hard otaku and hospitable Staff and Attendees, she is coming back again then afterwards celebrate another concert in Las Vegas.  After Vegas She will head up to a Brand new con called Desucon in the country of Finland.

I am thinking of improving my Otagei/Glowstick Call Skills in learning the dance.

I found this youtube video subbed where I can learn the basics of Otagei.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jxvmUmrIMs&feature=related

We should try to master the LOVE.EXE Otagei Call to Momoi.  And also do Otagei toward the entire Fanimaid Cafe when they do their performances at Stage Zero.

I hope Fanime Con and Its attendees will welcome her back with open arms.

Registration / Re: Pay at the door?
March 31, 2010, 06:14:11 AM
Today is the very last day to pregister for the laminated badge.  The next day the price will go up and you will no longer have the chance to obtain the Laminated Badge.  Instead you will get the Paper Badge.  Trust me its better to pay for the Laminated Badge instead of Individual Days or 2-4 days at the door to avoid hassles and lines if you are planning to attend Fanime Con for 2-4 Days.

Gah, THIS.  So much.

Though depending on what cons one is used to, I can see thinking the Fanime hotels expensive (I don't, but I'm used to thinking in terms of California hotel rates).  I remember looking at the rates for NDK and being shocked at how cheap they were -- though I think they're roughly on par with Fanime's this year.

Really, you want 'expensive' hotels, look at AX.  Fanime's are more than reasonable, especially given the timing and location.

If you want suicide Hotel Rates AX is nothing.  Try the Convention Hotels of the San Diego Comic Con.  Once you look at this you might as well jump into a rapid waterfall because they love to wash away your monies.  Have a look at this.

Dealers Room / Re: Imported Games
February 16, 2010, 04:39:49 AM
Its been a while since I have responded this thread.  Do any of you Fanime Import Gamers want JapanVideoGames Back for this year?  In the next couple of days I will be in communication with them.  I heard they moved to a new location.  Hopefully they can come this year despite this bad economy.  Just wish me luck.
